This activity is  funded by the research project ARISTEIA II (No4822) titled “Networks and Classification from Granger Causality of Multivariate Time Series with Applications in Neurophysiology”the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greece (2/2014 – 8/2015), overall budget: 130000 € (after a reduction applied on 10/2014 it is now down to 115700 ).

Our study has been focused to measures for multivariate time series, such as measures of synchronization and information flow. Moreover, data mining techniques are applied to the computed measures for the search of appropriate measures (feature selection) for accurate classification and clustering of time series at different preictal states.

The research group has established collaboration with other research groups in other topics of time series analysis, such as the analysis of EEG signals under conditions of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)currently measured at the Third Neurologic Clinic, Papanicolau Hosptital, Thessaloniki and the Laboratory of Clinical Neurophysiology, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki(AUTh) (led by Assoc. Prof. Vasilis Kimiskidis), as well as the team at the Department of Neurology, Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway (led by the senior neurophysiologist Pål Gunnar Larsson).

Members of the research group :

  1. Dimitris Kugiumtzis (head), Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer EngineeringAUTh

  2. Alkiviadis Tsimpiris, PostDoc at the School of Electrical and Computer EngineeringAUTh

  3. Elsa Siggiridou, PhD candidate at the School of Electrical and Computer EngineeringAUTh
